Our growth story is one of rapid, strategic expansion, driven by reinvesting profits and seizing market opportunities.
Vegastar International Pvt Ltd is a premier pan-African mining services, equipment services, and spare parts company. We bridge the critical gap between vast mineral potential and operational reality.
Founded on the principles of agility, integrity, and operational excellence, Vegastar has evolved from a single-asset equipment rental firm into a vertically integrated mining powerhouse. Forged in fire, our founders’ journey has shaped a company built on resilience, expertise, and a commitment to delivering practical solutions for Africa’s mining industry.
From equipment rental and contract mining to logistics, strategic advisory, and spare parts supply, Vegastar provides an integrated ecosystem designed to support mining operations across Africa.
We are committed to helping our clients keep their operations moving through reliable equipment, quality spare parts, efficient services, and industry-focused solutions.
At an age when most peers were navigating entry-level corporate roles, Shekhar
Sankpal was navigating the rugged terrains of West Africa. Leaving behind the
comfort and safety net of his home in India, he arrived in Africa with zero family
backing but an abundance of grit, energy, and a singular vision: to unlock value
where others saw only risk.
Starting from scratch in 2017, Shekhar did not manage from a distance. He lived on-site, learned the local dialects, and built personal relationships with artisanal miners and government officials alike.
His journey from a solo entrepreneur to a recognized leader—awarded the Most Successful International Businessman (2023) and honored by the Zimbabwe Miners Federation—is a testament to his "boots on the ground" philosophy.
This is not just business; it is personal. Shekhar's deep, granular understanding of the African mining value chain comes from doing the work himself—from operating excavators to negotiating complex cross-border logistics.
